you may believe that the purpose of a camera is to capture the present so that once it becomes the past (in your future), it will always be present with you. there’s more. when a camera is a present, it takes on a special meaning of its own. for krista, this meaning is freedom, blending into the background without being seen. more comfortable with herself when she is outside the world looking in, she is barely conscious until it’s too late that what she is seeing is not acting, performance for her benefit, but brutal torture and murder. she can run but is hiding and safety enough reason to keep quiet?
