Simply put, I am passionate about teaching.
From a more in-depth perspective, the classroom fulfills my desire to share and nurture knowledge in younger members of society in an attempt to improve their lives. The potential to assist and to develop young minds in their development is the most rewarding and enjoyable of goals.
what you will find here…
class notes
i am gradually trying to create a single place for online notes for each course. this is taking some time as some of the notes are hand-written, some are typed and long since lost to the land of paper, some are photographed versions of chalkboard and whiteboard writings, and some are simply deep inside my head. i will start with the public exam courses whenever possible as i know your future depends on those marks.
homework exercises
these are simply exercises for students in these courses to help with their progress. they range from basic exercises to get the concepts to advanced, supplementary exercises for mastery.
study guides
these are mostly in-progress attempts at helping you study for your in-class work. if you have any particular requests, let me know, as these are not being finalized in any particular order.
creative writing projects
as a writer, it is important not only to teach students how to write but to join them in that endeavor. this is the result.
articles on teaching
as a researcher, it is necessary to publish. here are the results of that necessity.
sample texts
in english, there are always texts to analyze. these are some that i have created that may be useful for student analysis. these are not works found floating around the internet but new material, either from my publications or from work that i have not yet published.
useful quotations
only quote from those people who write better than you do. here are some starting points.
blatant muse
so you want to learn how to write…
really?
i mean, really?
no problem. trust me.
writing is easy.
it’s knowing when to stop that’s hard.
this information will always be available here and there is no need to download, copy, and print for the sake of avoiding its disappearance. and it will always be free, as all knowledge should be.
above all, i hope this helps you. if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
oh, yes, a note about capitalization. i am an english teacher first but i believe in the evolution of language and language on the web is trending toward case-insensitivity. if this bothers you, you are more than welcome to run any of the text through a capitalization processor (an excellent one is found here) but i truly believe that students and teachers alike will have no trouble reading this text.
